Fountain Systems

Fountain Systems

Classic Conventional Fountain Systems

● Self-serve
    ○ Separate valve per flavor or limited selection
    ○ Manual level or button dispenser
● Crew-serve
    ○ Portion Control for each cup size
    ○ No free refill
    ○ Malls, shopping centers
    ○ Drive throughs

Fountain Systems

● Self-serve
    ○ 50+ flavor selection
    ○ Flavor-shots / micro dosing
    ○ Deconstructed delivery
    ○ Single nozzle
    ○ Almost always in self-serve
    ○ Very hard to adapt crew serve / drive throughs

Most fountain equipment works and looks the same way. Recent innovations were on electronics and multi-flavor options

04

Opportunity / Gap in Equipment Innovation
driving beverage and restaurant trends

There has been no real innovation for last 30 years in drive-thru and crew-serve fountain equipment

■ There is no automation in dispensing systems other than portion control

■ All crew-serve fountains are electro-mechanic and manual

■ Customer Beverage Order information is displayed monitors over the fountain but never linked to dispenser (except ABS)

05

What Changed

● Product variations
● Fresh food preparation, personalized orders
● Drinks from 4-5 types to 8-12 types
● 100+ product variation (Freestyle-Coca Cola and Spire-Pepsi)
● Drive thru popularity – Longer lines, longer wait
● Double drive-through
● Serve to two cars at once
● Service is faster
● Food preparation is faster
● No improvement on drink serving

Fountain equipment lacks to support changes in restaurant trends especially at drive-throughs and crew-serve
